Google Decides It Just Can’t Quit Cookies

On July 22, Google gave word that third-party cookies were here to stay, for now. “Instead of deprecating third-party cookies, we would introduce a new experience in Chrome that lets people make an informed choice that applies across their web browsing, and they’d be able to adjust that choice at any time,” said Anthony Chavez, vice president of Privacy Sandbox at Google. Chavez added, “We’re discussing this new path with regulators, and will engage with the industry as we roll this out.” Affiliate marketers, rejoice! We’ll be discussing the implications of this in Chicago this September, so be sure to get registered today.
